The American Heart Association Heartsaver CPR/AED Course teaches CPR and AED use for adults, children, and infants, plus relief of choking for all ages. We will also discuss Operation Stay'N Alive, the DOT-A AED Program, location of the AEDs, how to use the AEDs within the airports and share stories of lives that have been saved by people just like you.

For a limited time this class will be offered at no cost to the Department of Transportation- Airport Division employers, airport vendors, airline employees, and community members who utilizes our airports. Class are limited due to size so sign up early. If you need to cancel or the situation has changed and you cannot attend class please let us know as soon as possible. Be kind so that others can attend.

Location: Daniel K. Inouye International Airport Conference Center.

  • The GPS address is 300 Rodgers Blvd to get you to the Honolulu Airport. Once at the airport, follow all signs for departures for Hawaiian Airlines, you will want to park in the Terminal 1 parking garage (view here). Drive or take the elevator to the 7th floor and the conference center entrance is the furthest entrance from the runways (towards the mountains). Please note, you will be responsible for paying for parking.

  • This is not a first aid or healthcare provider course.

  • If you are taking this course for work or school, please check with your employer or orginization that this course will be acceptable. 
  • If you need an AHA CPR/AED card, please select "Yes" to the add on option and we will email your card post-class. 

Bleeding Control for the Injured (B-Con) teaches participants basic lifesaving interventions, including bleeding control using tourniquets, gauze and hemostatic agents. The course is designed for non-healthcare professionals including firefighters, security personnel and civilians. This is a 2-hour course.

This course is held at the Daniel K. Inouye International Airport Conference Center.

  • This course is geared towards healthcare professionals who either direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest/cardiovascular emergencies and for those in emergency response. 
    • Important topics covered:
      • High level team dynamis & communication
      • Systems of care
      • Recognition & intervention of cardiopulmonary arrest
      • Immediate post-cardiac arrest
      • Acure dysrhythmia, stroke & acute coronary syndromes

Requirements:

  • ACLS HeartCode online portion must be completed prior to in-person ACLS classroom/skills session. Registration includes the $168 online portion which goes to AHA. Your link is sent in your confirmation email upon registration. If you decide to add-on BLS Accelerated you will receive an additional online link.

Course Completion Card:

  • Upon successful completion, you will receive an AHA ACLS course completion card valid for 2 years. 

 

Notice: In accordance with American Heart Association guidelines, a minimum of three students is required to hold this class. If we do not have at least three students registered one week before the scheduled date, we may need to cancel the class to remain compliant. Should this occur, we will notify you at that time. 

 

Course Description:

  • This course is geared towards renewing healthcare professionals who either direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest/cardiovascular emergencies and for those in emergency response.

  • This course is geared towards healthcare professionals (included but not limited to prehospital providers, EMTs, paramedics, fire fighters, etc) and those who must know how to perform basic cardiovascular life support skills and CPR. 

Requirements:

  • BLS HeartCode online portion must be completed prior to in-person BLS classroom/skills session. Your link is sent in your confirmation email upon registration. If you decide to add-on First Aid you will receive an additional online link.

Course Completion Card:

  • Upon successful completion, you will receive an AHA BLS course completion card valid for 2 years.

Optional: If you would like to complete the BLS Heartcode Online in addition to the BLE online exam, please contact us. This is not required for BLS renewals, but can be purchased separately.

Course Description:

  • This course is geared towards those with little or no medical training. You will learn comprehensive and life-saving first aid and CPR skills and how to respond and use an AED in an emergency situation. 

Requirements:

  • First aid online portion must be completed prior to in-person First Aid/CPR/AED classroom/skills session. Your online link is sent in your confirmation email upon registration. 

Course Completion Card:

  • If you need an AHA First Aid/CPR/AED course completion card please select yes in the add on section.

Course Description:

For more than 20 years, it has been the mission of AED Institute to educate community responders to take the actions needed to help in emergencies prior to the arrival of our professional responders. The first few minutes of any emergency, whether cardiac arrest, bleeding, or overdoses, are the most critical for the best outcomes. 

In our new Community Responder Essentials Course, students will learn the simple steps to help a victim in need. This course is designed to build confidence, break some of the long-time myths, and give students hands-on learning to be that responder that is willing to help a family member or friend.All ages are welcome to attend.
